Your AI shopping agent can be live and answering buyer questions in 10 minutes. Here's exactly how to do it.
Before You Start
You'll need: your AskMyBio account (free at askmybio.net), your 3–5 main products (or a Shopify/WooCommerce store to import from), and about 10 minutes.
Step 1: Add Your Products (3 minutes)
Go to Dashboard → My Store → Add Product.
If you have a Shopify or WooCommerce store: Go to Cart Connections and connect your store. Your entire product catalog imports automatically. Skip to Step 2.
If adding manually: For each product, add: Product name, Description (include: what it is, who it's for, key benefits, what's included), Price, and at least one product image. The more detail you put in the description, the better the AI can answer questions about it.
Add your 3–5 best-selling or most-asked-about products to start. You can add more later.
Step 2: Set Your Brand Voice (2 minutes)
Go to AI Agent → Settings → Brand Voice.
Write 3–5 sentences describing how you communicate. Good example:
"Friendly and enthusiastic, like talking to a knowledgeable friend. I use casual language and occasionally humor. I'm direct about recommendations when I know what's best for someone's situation. I never use corporate speak or overly formal language. My audience is [describe your audience]."
Also add your preferred greeting — the first thing the agent says when someone opens the chat.
Step 3: Add Your Top FAQs (3 minutes)
Think about the 5–10 questions you get asked most often about your products. Add them to AI Agent → FAQs. Examples:
- "Is this right for beginners?" → Answer: [your answer]
- "What's your return policy?" → Answer: [your answer]
- "How long until I see results?" → Answer: [your answer]
- "Do you offer payment plans?" → Answer: [your answer]
These FAQs are answered instantly and accurately every time someone asks — no delays, no inconsistency.
Step 4: Test Your Agent (1 minute)
Click Preview on your bio link page. Open the AI chat. Ask it a question as if you were a potential buyer: "What product do you recommend for [specific situation]?" or "Is the [product name] worth it for someone who's never done [thing] before?"
Does it answer well? Does it sound like you? If something feels off, go back to your brand voice description and FAQ list and adjust.
Step 5: Go Live (30 seconds)
Publish your bio link page. Update your Instagram (and other platform) bio links to your askmybio.net URL.
Your AI agent is now live. It will handle every question from every visitor, at any hour, from this moment forward.
What to Monitor in Week 1
Check your AI Conversations dashboard after a few days. You'll see every conversation your agent has had. Look for:
- Questions the agent answers poorly (add better FAQs)
- Questions that come up repeatedly (your audience is telling you what they need to know to buy)
- Conversations that led to purchases (your agent's best work — learn from it)
