Zero Transaction Fees: Why We Don't Take a Cut of Your Sales

Most creator platforms take 5–10% of every sale you make. We don't. Here's why we built AskMyBio this way, and what it actually means for your business.

When we were designing AskMyBio's pricing model, we looked at how other creator platforms handled transaction fees and decided we'd do something different.

Most platforms charge 5–10% of every sale you make. Stan Store takes 5%. Beacons takes 9%. Even some "free" platforms layer in payment processing fees that effectively cut into your margin. We charge $0 on every sale, on every plan, forever. Here's why.

The Math Is Stark

If you sell $5,000 worth of products in a month on a platform with a 5% transaction fee, you keep $4,750. That's $250 gone. Annually, that's $3,000 — for what? The privilege of using a tool you're already paying a monthly fee for?

At $10,000/month: $6,000/year gone to transaction fees.

At $50,000/month: $30,000/year gone.

The more successful you become, the more punishing the transaction fee model gets. It's a tax on success, and it's embedded in most creator commerce platforms as a feature, not a bug.

The Philosophy Behind It

We believe your revenue is your revenue. You built the audience. You created the products. You did the work. The platform should be a tool, not a business partner taking an ongoing cut of your sales in perpetuity.

The transaction fee model creates a misalignment of incentives: the platform benefits from every transaction regardless of whether it's actually helping you run a better business. We prefer a different alignment: we succeed when you succeed because you upgrade your plan, use more features, and stay long-term. Not because we're extracting a percentage from every dollar you earn.

How We Make Money Instead

We make money from plan subscriptions. Free creators get a meaningful feature set at no charge. Creators who want more — unlimited products, all 9 social platforms, full AI agent, CRM, email campaigns — pay a flat monthly fee.

This model works because it scales with the value we provide, not with your success. And it creates better products: our incentive is to build features worth paying for, not to quietly benefit from your growth.

What to Do With the Money You're Saving

If you're currently on a platform charging transaction fees and you're doing any meaningful volume, the math of switching to AskMyBio is pretty simple:

Calculate: (your monthly sales × transaction fee percentage) – AskMyBio Creator plan cost ($19/month)

If you're selling $500/month with a 5% fee, you're paying $25 to your current platform in transaction fees. AskMyBio Creator at $19 is already cheaper — and you get significantly more features.

If you're selling $2,000/month with a 5% fee, you're paying $100/month in transaction fees. We cost $19. The math is unambiguous.

The Catch (There Isn't One)

Standard payment processing fees from Stripe still apply — typically 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. Those go to Stripe, not to us. They're unavoidable regardless of which platform you use.

But platform transaction fees on top of payment processing fees? Gone. Permanently. On every plan.

It's the right model. We're committed to it.
